OriginalRed Horizon
A clean coral science-fiction scene that keeps code and tasks legible.
Immersive Codex themes
Turn an image you love into a focused, readable Codex workspace. Build locally in your browser, preview the real surfaces, and export without handing a theme author the ability to run code.

Give your coding session a sense of place.
One image.One distinct workspace.
Zero upload.Your private art stays local.
Two modes.Native colors or immersive skin.
Theme gallery
Original scenes, playful concepts and layout inspiration—built around usable code contrast, not decoration alone.

Concept previews featuring people or recognizable IP are layout inspiration only. Bring properly licensed artwork for public or commercial use.
How it works
The builder keeps the creative decisions visible and the technical payload deliberately boring.
Start with an original theme or bring an image you have the right to use.
Set the crop, dimming, blur and panel opacity while watching a realistic Codex preview.
See live contrast guidance for text, controls, diffs and accent colors before you export.
Use a native theme string or a data-only Dream Skin package with the open-source engine.
Choose your level
Generate a codex-theme-v1 string for surface, ink, accent and semantic colors. Copy it into Codex and keep every window fully opaque.
Add a local background image, controlled dimming, frosted panels and layout decoration. The exported package remains data only and the engine stays reviewable.
Privacy by construction
The browser handles upload, crop, preview, palette extraction and WebP compression on your device. We measure page visits only after consent; we do not read your Codex conversations, projects, API keys or model configuration.
Read the safety modelCommon questions
No. The builder reads, crops and compresses your image in the browser. It is not sent to our server unless a future upload feature asks for separate, explicit permission.
No. CodexSkin is an independent community project. Codex and OpenAI remain the property of their respective owners.
A CodexSkin theme package is data only. It contains JSON, images, a license and signature metadata. Theme authors cannot add JavaScript, shell commands, PowerShell or arbitrary CSS.
Only when you have the necessary rights. Portrait and pop-culture previews in the concept gallery demonstrate layouts; they are not offered as commercially licensed assets.
